While a certificate is not demanded it will give you more employment
opportunities. Once you complete your program the exam for certification is
given three times a year and needs to be renewed once every 5 years.
What Do Medical Assistants Do?

medical assistants work both with patients and with the business end of things.
Some of a medical assistants duties may include:

These tasks require that you enjoy working both with patients and doing

Medical assistants work in doctors offices, clinics and hospitals doing a
variety of tasks. In many cases you will work 40 hours a week Monday through
Friday unless you happen to work in an office that is open nights or weekends.
While many people use their medical assistant job to earn income and give them
some medical experience that will help them return to school to get their
medical degree other people make a career out of being a medical assistant
finding the versatility of the work to be both interesting and challenging.
